# Configure Workbench PMDA Aggregate Reports

Set up Workbench PMDA Postmarket aggregate reports and generate PMDA Postmarket report tables. To configure Workbench PMDA Reports:

1. [Create copies of each preconfigured PMDA _Workbench View_][1].
2. [Configure view dependencies][3] for each copied _Workbench View_.
3. [Create _Workbench Report Definitions_][4] for masked and unmasked versions of each report.
4. [Create an _Aggregate Reporting Group_][5] to identify the _Products_ and _Studies_ to include in each report.

**Note**: Depending on your Admin's configuration and your notification preferences, Vault can notify all _Viewers_, _Editors_, and _Owners_ of the _Workbench Report Set_ once the _Workbench Report Set_ has finished its scheduled run.

## Copy the Preconfigured PMDA Views {#copy-preconfigured-views}
To configure Workbench PMDA Aggregate Reporting, we recommend you create copies of each [preconfigured PMDA _Workbench View_][2]. These copied _Workbench Views_ act as a baseline for any future _Workbench View_ updates, allowing you to identify and implement changes to your PMDA _Workbench Views_ as appropriate for your organization.

To copy a preconfigured PMDA _Workbench View_:
1. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > Workbench Views**.
2. Search for the desired [PMDA _Workbench View_][2].
3. Copy the desired _Workbench View_.
4. From the _Create Workbench View_ page, populate the fields as follows, then select **Save**:
   * **Name**: Enter a name for the PMDA view
   * **API Name**: Enter an API name ending in `__c`
   * **Description**: Enter a description for the PMDA view
5. In the _Hierarchical Copy Option_ dialog that appears, select the **Copy Related Records** checkbox, then select **Save**.

**Note**: For help modifying the _SQL Editor_ section of a _Workbench View_, contact your Veeva Representative.

### PMDA Workbench Views and PMDA Reports {#pmda-views-pmda-reports}
Each preconfigured PMDA _Workbench View_ maps to an unmasked version of a PMDA tabulation, line listing, and log-type report as follows:

|PMDA Workbench View Name|Report Name|
|--- |--- |
|_PMDA PostMarket Principal_|N/A---used for configuring Workbench View Dependencies|
|_PMDA PostMarket Principal > Latest_|N/A---used for configuring Workbench View Dependencies|
|_PMDA PostMarket Principal > Latest > Case Series Listing_|Case Series Report|
|_PMDA PostMarket Principal > Latest > Open Case Listing_|Open Cases Report|
|_PMDA PostMarket Principal > Latest > J-NUPR Line Listing_|J-NUPR Line Listing Form 7-2|
|_PMDA PostMarket Principal > Latest > J-PSR Line Listing_|J-PSR Line Listing of Adverse Events (Form 4)|
|_PMDA PostMarket Principal > Latest > J-PSR Tabulation_| J-PSR Cumulative Tabulation of Adverse Events (Form 3)|

## Configure View Dependencies {#configure-view-dependencies}

**Note**: To configure view dependencies, you must first create copies of the following preconfigured views:
- _PMDA Principal_
- _PMDA Principal > Latest Version_

For each copied _Workbench View_ that corresponds to a specific report, configure the _Workbench View Dependency_ field to map to its corresponding parent view:
1. Search for and navigate to the copied [PMDA _Workbench View_][2].
2. In the _Dependent Views_ section, hover over the existing _Dependent View_ record and select **Edit**.
3. Select a **Dependent View** as follows based on the copied _Workbench View_ you are editing, then select **Save**:
   * **PMDA Principal > Latest Version**: Select the copied **PMDA Principal**
   * **All other report-specific views**: Select the copied **PMDA Principal > Latest Version**
   * **PMDA Principal**: Not applicable---you do not need to update this view's _Dependent View_ value
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for all copied _Workbench Views_.

## Create Workbench Report Definitions {#create-workbench-report-definitions}
To allow users to generate PMDA Workbench aggregate reports, you must create PMDA _Workbench Report Definitions_. When you create a _Workbench Report Definition_, the _Workbench View_ you select in the _Workbench View_ field determines which PMDA report Vault creates when a user generates _Workbench Reports_.

We recommend you create a _Workbench Report Definition_ for each of your [copied PMDA _Workbench Views_][1].

To create a _Workbench Report Definition_:
1. Navigate to **Workbench Admin > Report Definitions**.
2. Select **Create**.
3. From the _Create Report Definition_ page, populate the fields in the _Properties_ section as follows:
   * **Name**: Enter a name for the _Workbench Report Definition_
   * **Workbench View**: Select the _Workbench View_ you created based on the [preconfigured view][2]
   * **Report Category**: Select **Aggregate**
   * **Report Subcategory**: Select **PMDA Postmarket**
   * **API Name**: Enter an API name ending in `__c`
4. In the _Layout_ section, select **Select Fields** to define the fields that will appear on any resulting _Workbench Reports_, then select **Confirm**. If desired, you can replicate the order of the fields as they appear in the relevant [PMDA report][2].
5. Select **Save**.
6. (Optional) To define a customized tabular structure for the Workbench Report:
   1. By default, each PMDA Excel template is configured with column name values corresponding to the _API Name_ of the [preconfigured _Workbench View_][2]. To ensure your custom _Workbench Report_ Excel files contain the correct data, you must update the values in row 4 of each Excel template to correspond to the [_API Name_ of your copied _Workbench View_][6].
   2. In Vault, navigate to the _Workbench Report Definition_ and select **Edit**.
   3. In the **Excel Template** field within the _Advanced Options_ section, upload the relevant **PMDA Excel template**.
   4. Select **Save**.

## Create an Aggregate Reporting Group {#create-aggregate-reporting-group}
Create an _Aggregate Reporting Group_ to identify the _Products_ and _Studies_ that the _Workbench Report Set_ should consider.
