# Enable Product Coding: Additional Matching Fields for Product Aliases

Learn how to enable using Inbox Item Product fields and Default Aliases for Product matching. 

## About the Feature

With the 24R2 release, support for using Inbox Item Product fields and Default Aliases for Product matching and auto-coding was added.

After performing the configuration on this page, see <a href="/en/gr/01215/#add-a-product-alias">Manage Products in Vault Safety</a> for more information about this criteria and how to add a Default Alias. For more information on Product Alias matching, see <a href="/en/gr/01145/#product-alias-matching">Inbox Item Study and Product Matching</a>.

## Update the Product Alias Layout

Update the **Product Alias** layout to add the **Default Alias** field and the additional matching fields:
1. Go to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Product Alias > Layouts > Product Alias Detail Page Layout**.
2. In the **Details** section, add the **Default Alias** field.
3. After the **Details** section, insert a detail form section with the following information:
    * **Section Label**: Matching Fields
    * **Section Name**: matching_fields
    * **Section Layout**: Detail Form - Two Columns
4. Select **Done**. 
5. In the **Matching Fields** section, add the following fields:
    * **Country**
    * **Dose Form**
    * **Dose Strength (Unit)**
    * **Dose Strength**
    * **Organization**
    * **Route of Administration**
    * **Country Alias Match Type**
    * **Dose Form Alias Match Type**
    * **Dose Strength (Unit) Alias Match Type**
    * **Dose Strength Alias Match Type**
    * **Organization Alias Match Type**
    * **ROA Alias Match Type**
6. Select **Save**.

## Update the Product Coding Settings

Update the **Product Coding** settings to select the Product Alias Matching logic:
1. Go to **Admin > Settings > Intake Settings**.
2. In the **Product Coding** section **Product Alias Matching** field, select one (1) of the following options:
    * **Exact Match**
    * **Closest Match**
3. Select **Save**.
