# Enable Regions for Countries

Learn how to configure your Vault to group countries by region.

## About the Feature

With the 25R1 release, Vault Safety supports grouping countries by standard and custom regions. When enabled, Vault populates one (1) of 13 standard _Region_ values on all existing standard _Country_ records, except for _Antarctica_ and _Unknown_. Business Admins can manage and revise the existing data structure for _Regions_ by creating and editing _Region_ records and by applying _Region_ values to custom _Country_ records. Future enhancements will leverage this data structure.

This feature is Auto-on; however, some components require additional configuration.  After configuring this feature, see <a href="/en/gr/805533/">Manage Regions</a> for more information.

## Update the Country Layout

Complete the following steps to add the _Region_ field to the _Country_ object layout:

1. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Country > Layouts > Country Detail Page Layout**.
2. In the _Details_ section, add the **Region** field.
3. Select **Save**.
