# Enable Multiple Product Families on Safety Investigations

Learn how to configure your Vault to include multiple _Product Families_ and _Products_ on a _Safety Investigation_.

## About the Feature

With the 25R2 release, users can now include multiple _Product Families_ and _Products_ on a _Safety Investigation_. This allows you to track safety issues relevant to the primary _Product_ as well as its concomitant or interacting _Products_.

## Update the Safety Investigation Object Layout

To update the _Safety Investigation_ object layout:

1. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Safety Investigation > Layouts > Safety Investigation Detail Page Layout**.
2. Before the _MedDRA Events_ section, insert the _Safety Investigation Product_ <a href="/en/gr/26387/#how-to-add-sections">related object section</a>:
    * In the **Section Label** field, enter `Product`.
    * Select **Create record in pop-up dialog**.
3. In the _Products_ section, ensure <a href="/en/gr/26387/#how-to-edit-related-object-columns">the default columns</a> include:
    * _Name_
    * _Safety Investigation_
    * _Product Family_
    * _Product_
    * _Rank_
4. Select **Save**.

## Update the Safety Investigation Product Object Layout

To update the _Safety Investigation Product_ object page layout:
1. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Safety Investigation Product > Layouts**.
2. Do one (1) of the following:
   * Create a new custom layout: <a href="/en/gr/26387/#copy-a-layout">Copy</a> the **Safety Investigation Product Detail Page Layout** standard layout, set the new custom layout as the <a href="/en/gr/26387/#set-a-default-layout">default</a>, and <a href="/en/gr/26387/#delete-a-layout">delete</a> any other existing custom layouts.
   * Update the existing standard layout: Select the **Safety Investigation Product Detail Page Layout** and, in the _Details_ section, add the following fields and <a href="/en/gr/26387/#how-to-remove-object-fields">remove</a> the rest:
        * _Safety Investigation_
        * _Product Family_
        * _Product_
        * _Rank_
3. Select **Save**.

## Grant Object Permissions

To grant permissions to the applicable permission sets:
1. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets > [Permission Set]**.
2. Select the **Objects** tab.
3. Select the **Safety Investigation Product** object.
4. In the _Object Permissions_ section, select **Edit**.
5. For the _Safety Investigation Product_ object, grant _Read_, _Create_, _Edit_, and _Delete_ permissions.
6. Select **Save**.
