# Enable Product Use Type for Products

With the 26R1 release, Veeva Safety adds the _Product Use Type_ field to _Product_ records, enabling you to designate _Products_ as _Company Use_, _Study Use_, or _External Use_. When selecting company products in the _Product Browser_, available during intake and case processing, Vault returns only _Products_ with a _Product Use Type_ of _Company Use_ or blank. Returning only relevant _Company Products_ supports faster product coding and case processing.

## Update the Product Layout

<a href="/en/gr/26387/#how-to-add-object-fields">Add</a> the _Product Use Type_ field to applicable _Product_ object layouts.
