# Enable PMDA Local Case Processing Automations

With the 23R2 release, Vault now automatically populates _Case Product Registrations_ and _Case Assessments_ for domestic _Cases_ and _Localized Cases_ for Japan. In addition, a new action enables generating _Localized Assessments_ for _Products_ with the same _Substance_ as a suspect or interacting _Case Product_ when reporting to the PMDA. This feature ensures the proper selection of PMDA reportable _Products_ and expedites the entry of associated information and J2 data elements. PMDA Local Case Processing Automations streamlines the reporting process and eliminates manual effort.

## 26R2 Update: PMDA Comments Assistance

With the 26R2 release, to support compliant PMDA reporting, Veeva Safety adds more context for expectedness evaluations on _Localized Cases_ for Japan. Vault now populates the <a href="/en/lr/872016/#expectedness-details">reason for an expectedness evaluation</a>, such as _Unexpected Due to Seriousness_, on _Localized Case Assessments_. Additionally, based on the _Event (LLT)_ on a global _Case_, Vault now populates the <a href="/en/lr/872016/#localized-llt">_Localized Event (LLT)_</a> on _Localized Case Adverse Events_. ## Update the Localized Case Assessment Layout

<a href="/en/lr/26387/#how-to-add-object-fields">Add</a> the following fields to the _Localized Case Assessment_ section of _Localized Cases_:
   * _Case Product_
   * _Case Product Registration_
   * _Datasheet_
   * _Datasheet Document_
   * _Override Reason_

### Update the Localized Case Assessment Layout Rules

On the _Localized Case Assessment_ object layout, create a <a href="/en/lr/51632/#creating-layout-rules">layout rule</a> to hide the _Case Product Registration_ assessment fields for non-Japan _Localized Cases_. Complete the _Create Layout Rule_ fields as follows:
   * **Label**: Enter `Hide CPR Assessment Fields`
   * **IF this Layout Rule Expression is TRUE**: Enter `localization__vr.name__v != "Japanese (Japan)"`
   * **Apply the following display effects**:
       * **Effect:** _Hide_
       * **Type:** _Fields_
       * **Values:**
           * _Case Product_
           * _Case Product Registration_
           * _Datasheet_
           * _Datasheet Document_
           * _Datasheet Document (unbound)_

## Configure the Retrieve Reportable Case Product Registrations Action on Localized Cases

To configure the _Retrieve Reportable Case Product Registrations_ action, <a href="/en/lr/43127/#assign-actions">assign</a> the action to the _Localized Case_ object, and then add the action as a <a href="/en/lr/59885/#define-actions">user action</a> on the following _Localized Case_ object lifecycle states:

* _Active_
* _Revision_

## Update the Localizations Layout

<a href="/en/lr/26387/#how-to-add-object-fields">Add</a> the _Assessment Generation_ field to the _Localization_ object.

## Configure the Japan Localization for Assessment Generation

Complete the following steps so that _Localized Cases_ for Japan generate _Localized Case Assessments_ based on _Case Product Registrations_:

1. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > Localizations > Japanese (Japan)**.
2. Select **Edit**.
3. In the _Assessment Generation_ field, select **Localized Assessments for Case Product Registrations**.
4. Select **Save**.

To configure your Vault for this feature for _Localized Cases_ for Japan:

* <a href="/en/lr/26387/#how-to-add-object-fields">Add</a> the _Localized Event (LLT)_ field to the applicable _Localized Case Adverse Event_ object layout.
* <a href="/en/lr/26387/#how-to-add-object-fields">Add</a> the _Expectedness Details_ field to the applicable _Localized Case Assessment_ object layout.
