# Enable Product Masking Selection for Study Products
Learn how to configure your Vault for clearer study product blinding.
## About the Feature
With the 23R2 release, _Blinded_ field values are now consistently **Open Label**, **Unblinded**, and **Blinded** for _Case Study Products_, _Studies_, and _Study Arms_, communicating the blinded state more clearly.

## Configure the Study Product Layout
To replace the standard _Blinded_ field with its control field equivalent on the _Case Study Product_ layout:
1. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Case Product > Layouts > Study Product Page Layout**.
2. In the **Blinding Details** section:
1. Remove the standard **Blinded** field.
2. Add the 
**Blinded** control field.
3. In the **Add Blinded** dialog, select the **Specify different Label and Help Content** checkbox.
4. In the **Label** field, change the label from `Blinded` to `Masking`.
5. Select **Done**.
3. Select **Save**.
## Configure the Study Layout
To replace the standard _Blinded_ field with its control field equivalent on the _Study_ layout:
1. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Study > Layouts > Study Detail Page Layout**.
2. In the **Details** section:
1. Remove the standard **Blinded** field.
2. Add the **Blinded** control field.
3. (Optional) In the **Add Blinded** dialog, select the **Specify different Label and Help Content** checkbox and then update the label to `Blinding Type`.
3. Select **Save**.
## Configure the Study Arm Layout
To replace the standard _Blinded_ field with its control field equivalent on the _Study Arm_ layout:
1. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Study Arm > Layouts > Study Arm Detail Page Layout**.
2. In the **Details** section, complete the following steps:
1. Remove the standard **Blinded** field.
2. Add the **Blinded** control field.
3. (Optional) In the **Add Blinded** dialog, select the **Specify different Label and Help Content** checkbox and then update the label to `Masking`.
3. Select **Layout Rules**.
4. On the **Layout Rules for Study Arm** page, select **Blinded**.
5. Select **Edit**.
6. Update the **Apply the following display effects** section as follows:
1. In the **Type** column, change the value from **Fields** to **Controls**. This will remove **Blinded** from the **Values** column.
2. In the **Values** column, select **Blinded**.
3. Select **Save**.
