# Generate Case Collections from Workbench Case Series

Learn how to generate _Case Collections_ from _Workbench Case Series_.

## About Case Collections from Case Series

In Safety, a _Case Collection_ includes a list of <a href="/en/lr/01301/#case-number">_Case Numbers_</a> and is used for reporting to partners and relevant health authorities in CIOMS I and E2B(R3) formats. In Workbench, a <a href="/en/lr/752963/#case-series">_Workbench Case Series_</a> is a set of specific _Case_ versions generated from a _Workbench Report_. To facilitate Safety reporting using _Workbench Report_ outputs, Workbench allows you to generate _Case Collections_ from a _Workbench Case Series_.

When you generate a _Case Collection_ from a _Workbench Case Series_, you can specify one (1) of the following reporting formats:
* CIOMS I Masked
* CIOMS I Unmasked
* ICH E2B(R3)

A _Case Collection_ includes up to 1,000 _Cases_.

## Prerequisite

Your Admin must enable <a href="/en/lr/860881/">generating _Case Collections_ from _Workbench Case Series_</a>.

## Generate a Case Collection

For _Workbench Reports_ that were run using a <a href="/en/lr/752978/#create-workbench-view-columns">_Case_ series-enabled safety view</a>, you can generate _Case Collections_. To generate a _Case Collection_ from a _Workbench Case Series_:
1. Navigate to **Workbench > Ad Hoc Reports**.
2. From the **All Actions** menu of a _Workbench Report_ with a _Case_ series-enabled safety view, select one (1) of the following actions:
    * **Generate CIOMS I Masked Collection**
    * **Generate CIOMS I Unmasked Collection**
    * **Generate E2B R3 Collection**

**Result**

Vault sends an email and a notification to alert you when generation is complete with a link to the _Case Collection_. Vault sets the following on the _Case Collection_:
* A title named after the _Workbench Report_ from which it was generated
* The object type to one (1) of the following, depending on the action used:
    * _CIOMS I PII Masked & Study Blinded_
    * _CIOMS I PII Unmasked & Study Unblinded_
    * _E2B R3_

The <a href="/en/lr/680212/#case-collection-details-fields">_Case Version Setting_</a> field is set to _Specific Case Version_. This value allows the _Case Collection_ to link to a specific version of the _Case_.
