# Manage Literature Highlighted Terms

Learn how to create _Literature Highlighted Terms_ in your Vault.

## About Literature Highlighted Terms

_Literature Highlighted Terms_ define the words that <a href="/en/gr/01239/#highlight-literature-abstract-terms">Vault highlights in the _Abstract_ field of your _Literature Article_ records</a>. You can configure your Vault to highlight the specific predefined terms that matter for your organization's specific patient, seriousness, and company-specific term needs. 

Vault comes populated with a number of standard _Literature Highlighted Term_ records, based on standard patient and seriousness terms. While you cannot change or delete standard _Literature Highlighted Term_ records, you can:

## Prerequisites

To use _Literature Highlighted Terms_, your Admin must <a href="/en/gr/01318/#25r1-update-highlight-literature-abstract-terms">enable Highlight Literature Abstract Terms</a>.

## Create Literature Highlighted Terms

To create a _Literature Highlighted Term_ record in your Vault:
1. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > Literature Highlighted Terms**.
2. Select **Create**.
3. On the _Create Literature Search Group_ page, populate the following fields:
    - **Term Category**: Select the type of term from the picklist:
        - Patient
        - Seriousness
        - Company Term
    - **Text to Highlight**: Enter the term you want Vault to highlight in the _Abstract_ field of your _Literature Article_ records. This field is case-insensitive.
4. Select **Save**.

**Result**

Vault creates a new _Literature Highlighted Term_ record in the _Active_ state. Whenever a user is in Read mode on any _Literature Article_ record, Vault highlights any instance of the _Text to Highlight_ value that appears in the _Abstract_ field (<a href="/en/gr/01239/#note-highlight-read-mode">provided the field's _Language_ setting is **English**</a>). 

## Inactivate or Reactivate a Literature Highlighted Term

To inactivate or reactivate a _Literature Highlighted Term_ record in your Vault:
1. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > Literature Highlighted Terms > [Literature Highlighted Term]**.
2. From the **All Actions** menu, select an option:
    - **Inactivate Term**
    - **Reactivate**

**Result**

When you inactivate a term, Vault changes the _Literature Highlighted Term_ record's status to _Inactive_. The term is no longer highlighted in the _Abstract_ field of your Vault's _Literature Article_ records. 

When you reactivate a term, Vault changes the _Literature Highlighted Term_ record's status to _Active_. The term is once again highlighted in the _Abstract_ field of your Vault's _Literature Article_ records.
