# Code and Browse Study Products

To reduce effort during _Inbox Item_ and _Case_ processing, you can select multiple _Study Products_ and then add them in a single action. The _Specify Study Products_ dialog includes the following tabs:

* _Open/Unblinded_: This tab lists open-label and unblinded _Study Products_.
* _Blinded_: This tab lists _Study Product Placeholder_ names for blinded _Study Products_.

When adding _Study Products_ to _Inbox Items_, you can toggle between the tabs. On study _Cases_, if the _Study_ is blinded and the _Case Blinded_ field is set to _Yes_ or is blank, both the _Blinded_ and _Open/Unblinded_ tabs appear. In all other instances, only the _Open/Unblinded_ tab appears. _Study Products_ previously added to _Cases_ cannot be selected from the _Specify Study Products_ dialog.

## Study Product Records

Vault creates _Study Product_ records for products added through the _Specify Study Products_ dialog:

* For _Study Products_ selected from the _Blinded_ tab, Vault sets the _Study Product_ field to _Blinded_.
* For _Study Products_ selected from the _Open/Unblinded_ tab, Vault sets the _Study Product_ field to _Open Label_ or _Unblinded_. You can update this value if needed.

On all created _Study Product_ records, Vault sets the _Drug Role_ to _Suspect_.

## Prerequisites

Ensure the following prerequisites are met:

* Your Admin must enable the _Specify Study Products_ action on <a href="/en/lr/01334/">_Inbox Items_</a> and <a href="/en/lr/760295/">_Cases_</a>.
* The _Report Type_ of the _Inbox Item_ or _Case_ must be _Study_.
* The selected _Study_ has a _Study Has Unspecified Products_ value of _No_ or is blank.

## <a id="study-products-inbox">Add Multiple Study Products to Inbox Items

On new manually created _Inbox Items_, you can add up to ten (10) _Study Products_. Vault creates one (1) placeholder _Study Product_ record. In the _Specify Study Products_ dialog, you can select up to nine (9) _Study Products_.

To add multiple _Study Products_ to _Inbox Items_:

1. In the _Products_ section, open the **All Actions** menu and select **Specify Study Products**.
2. In the _Specify Study Products_ dialog, [browse][1] the _Study Products_ available to add.
   * Select the **Open/Unblinded** tab to browse all _Study Products_ for the selected _Study_.
   * Select the **Blinded** tab to browse all _Blinded Names_ for the selected _Study_.
3. Select the checkbox for each _Study Product_ you want to add.
4. Select **Confirm**.

**Result**

Vault creates a record in the _Products_ section for each selected _Study Product_. If the _Inbox Item_ does not contain a rank `1` _Product_ yet, Vault assigns the first _Study Product_ as the primary. If there is already a rank `1` _Product_, Vault sets the new _Study Products_ to rank `2`.

## Add Multiple Study Products to Cases

To add multiple _Study Products_ to _Cases_:

1. Open the _Case_'s **All Actions** menu and select **Specify Study Products**.
2. On the available tab, either _Open/Unblinded_ or _Blinded_, [browse][1] the _Study Products_ available to add.
3. Select the checkbox for each _Study Product_ you want to add.
4. Select **Confirm**.

**Result**

Vault creates a record in the _Case Products_ section for each _Study Product_ you select. Vault does not populate the _Rank_ field. For open label and unblinded _Study Products_, Vault maps information from the following objects and fields to the _Case Product_:

* _Case Product Registration_:
  * _MPID_
  * _PhPID_
* _Case Product Dosage_:
  * _Dose_ (including number and unit)
  * _Frequency_ (including number and unit)
  * _Dose Form_
  * _RoA_

### <a id="browse-prods">Browsing Study Products

When the _Specify Study Products_ dialog is open, you can enter a term in the **Search** bar and select the **Search** (<img class="inline" src="https://platform.veevavault.help/assets/images/saf-execute-search.png" alt="Magnifying glass icon" style="" />) icon to filter the list of _Study Products_. You can also sort the list in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column headers.

To customize the browser columns:

1. In the browser's **All Actions** menu, select **Edit Columns**.
2. Use the right and left arrow buttons to move columns between the _Available Columns_ and _Selected Columns_ sections.
3. Select **Save**.
