# Enable Document Intake Highlighter

With the 25R1 release, Vault provides the _Document Intake Highlighter_ panel on the _Doc Info_ page of _Adverse Event Report_ classified documents. The Document Intake Highlighter allows users to map content in the source document when generating _Inbox Items_, which can then be promoted to _Cases_ directly from the panel. The panel displays specific _Inbox Item_ fields for users to populate manually or using colored annotations in the source document, which maps the source details to the fields. These fields and annotation colors are maintained by Veeva and cannot be modified.

### 25R2 Update: Product Extraction {#product-extraction}

With the 25R2 release, you can enable automatic product extraction, allowing users to run the <a href="/en/lr/834442/#extract">_Extract Company Products_ action</a> in the panel to generate product items based on matching terms in your Product library.

## Prerequisites

Before enabling this feature in your Vault, you must:

* Enable <a href="/en/lr/01383/">MedDRA Synonyms</a>
* Enable product coding and matching:
  * <a href="/en/lr/01314/">Faster Company Product Selection on Inbox Item</a>
  * <a href="/en/lr/736616/">Product Browser for Faster Case Product Selection</a>
  * <a href="/en/lr/727583/">Product Coding: Additional Matching Fields for Product Aliases</a>
* To support [automatic product extraction][1], you must first add all appropriate product, registration, and substance details to your <a href="/en/lr/01215/">_Product_ library</a>.

## Update Intake Settings {#intake}

To enable this feature in your Vault

1. Navigate to **Admin > Settings > <a href="/en/lr/740208/#intake-setttings">Intake settings</a>**.
2. Select **Edit**.
3. In the _Document Highlighter_ section, select the **Enable Intake Document Highlighter** checkbox so users can access the _Document Intake Highlighter_ panel.
4. Optional: To enable automatic product extraction, select the **Load Terms for Auto-Extraction** checkbox so users can run the _Extract Company Products_ action on the panel.
5. Select **Save**.

## Grant Object Permissions

Ensure your <a href="/en/lr/22824/">permission sets</a> grant _Create_ access for users to the _Inbox Item_ object according to your organization's process. Manage object permissions from **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets > [Permission Set] > Objects > Inbox Item**.

## Define Document Role Permissions

To access the _Document Intake Highlighter_ panel, users must have the _View Content_ <a href="/en/lr/2572/">document role permissions</a> for the applicable states of the _AER Lifecycle_. To edit fields in the panel, users must also have _Annotate_ permission.
