Enable Deprecated Controlled Vocabulary User Actions

Learn how to update your vault's configuration to enable user actions to change the status on controlled vocabularies to deprecated.

Note Beginning with 24R1 in April 2024 and for all subsequent releases, the new Vault Safety Help site is the official site for all Vault Safety Help content. This site reflects updates until the 23R3 release only. For the latest information, visit the new site.

About the Feature

Deprecated Controlled Vocabularies are active terms that can no longer be used in Vault Safety but can still be imported into the system if an E2B case contains these terms.

Vault Safety encourages deprecating Controlled Vocabularies instead of inactivating them.

Configure Controlled Vocabularies provides more information on how to use this feature.

Add a User Action to Deprecate a Record

For customers that have already been using inactive Controlled Vocabularies, their Administrator will need to configure their Object Lifecycle in order to use this feature.

  1. In the Admin area, go to Configuration > Object Lifecycles > Controlled Vocabulary Lifecycle.
  2. Open the Inactive state, and then add a user action to Change State to Deprecated.
