Learn how to configure your Vault to enable multi-format Submissions and Distributions.
About the Feature
With the 22R2 (August 12, 2022) release, Vault Safety supports the automated generation of multiple document formats within a single transmission record. For example, a CIOMS I and MedWatch 3500A form can be generated within the same Distribution record to transmit to a partner or ethics committee.

Create a Submission and Create a Distribution provide information on how to manually specify multiple formats per Transmission.
Update the Transmission Profile Layouts
In the Admin area, go to Configuration > Objects > Transmission Profile > Layouts and add the Additional Outbound Format(s) (additional_outbound_formats__v
) field to the Email Transmission Profile and the Manual Transmission Profile.
We recommend placing the field under Outbound Format in the Outbound Settings section.
Update the Submission and Distribution Layouts
- In the Admin area, go to Configuration > Objects > Transmission > Layouts and select the Submission Detail Page Layout.
- Add the Additional Transmission Document Type(s) (
additional_transmission_documents__v
) field to the layout. - Below the Validation Results (Failures & Warnings) section, insert a Related Documents section with the following settings:
- Referencing Document Field: Outbound Transmissions
- Section Label: Transmission Documents
- Repeat the above steps for the Distribution Detail Page Layout.
