Veeva Safety Workbench is a modern application with the ability to analyze large volumes of data for ad-hoc and periodic reporting as well as for health authority inquiries. Veeva Safety Workbench enables easier and more configurable reporting for organizations that process a large number of cases.
Note: You must also have the Veeva Safety application set up to use Veeva Safety Workbench.
Scalable Report Generation
Veeva Safety Workbench can process large volumes of cases for enterprise organizations to provide seamless report outputs. This application supports both ad-hoc and periodic regulatory reporting.
Configurable Report Generation
Veeva Safety Workbench reporting logic is configurable. You can create filters to parse data and cases to generate specialized report outputs. Your Veeva Representative can provide SQL with more specific conditions and criteria to query any record in the Safety data model, depending on your business needs.
Prestructured Data Tabulation
For faster and easier reporting, you can configure safety views to predetermine the organization and data available on Workbench Reports.
You can also upload templates in Excel format, provided by your Veeva Representative, to structure Workbench Report data with minimal configuration.
Recurring Data Sync from Veeva Safety
Vault performs a reliable, daily extract, transfer, and load (ETL) of safety data from Veeva Safety to Veeva Safety Workbench. This data sync improves efficiency and consistency and reduces the need for third-party solutions. Workbench only extracts object data from Veeva Safety. As a result, certain data types and metadata are not available for reporting in Workbench:
- Documents and workflows
- Picklists
- Tasks, Vault configuration, and intake data (for example, Inbox Items)
For a complete list of Safety objects excluded from the data sync, see Unsupported Safety Objects for Workbench Reporting.
The daily transfer typically occurs at 1:00 AM, after the Direct Data API file is available. By default, your Vault follows the Vault Time Zone but may be configured to use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). If the Direct Data API file is unavailable for any reason, Vault attempts to synchronize the data from Veeva Safety every hour until it succeeds. If the data sync does not succeed after six hours, the job fails and Vault sends error notifications to the appropriate recipients.
