Learn how AS2 Connections are used to connect Vault Safety with External Partner and Health Agency AS2 Gateways.
About AS2 Connections
As described in Send a Gateway Transmission, Vault Safety can send Individual Case Safety Report (ICSR) Transmissions electronically to destination organizations that provide a Gateway that supports the AS2 protocol.
AS2 Connections provide the following features:
- Admin management of Internet Protocol (IP) lists
- Concise outbound IP lists
- Certificate Management
Note: Prior to 23R3, Vault Safety used Gateway Profiles to submit electronic transmissions. AS2 Connections are replacing Gateway Profiles. Though Gateway Profiles are currently still supported, they will be deprecated in a future release. Consequently, we recommend replacing any Gateway Profiles in your Vault with an equivalent AS2 Connection. See Replace a Gateway Profile with an AS2 Connection for instructions on how to do this.
Creating a Connection to an AS2 Gateway
For each connection between Vault Safety and an AS2 Gateway, you must create and configure the following:
- An AS2 Connection
- A Transmission Profile of the AS2 Gateway object type
Note: Vault Safety provides a Transmission Profile for the FDA, EMA, MHRA, PMDA, and Health Canada. For other agencies, you must create a corresponding Transmission Profile.
See Standard Agency ICSR Submissions for details on the supported agencies, including how to create and configure an AS2 Connection for each agency.
