About Creating Inbox Items from Non-E2B Files
You can allow users to create Inbox Items from non-E2B documents, such as literature reports in PDF that were uploaded with the Case > Source > Literature classification. With this configuration, users can also generate Inbox Items from document placeholder records and capture the citation in the Reference field of the document metadata.

Configure the Create Inbox Item From Document Action
To configure this option, add the Create Inbox Item From Document action on the Case Source Lifecycle document lifecycle for documents in the Imported state. For more information, see Defining User Actions for Document States.
