Veeva Safety supports the Japan Federation of Medical Devices Associations (JFMDA) Device Code dictionary for coding Japanese medical device information. You control the version of the JFMDA Dictionary Vault uses.

Prerequisites

To manage the JFMDA Device Code Dictionary, you must:

Update the JFMDA Device Code Dictionary

To update the JFMDA Device Code Dictionary:

  1. Navigate to Business Admin > Objects > Dictionaries > JFMDA Device Code Dictionary.
  2. Optional: To sync the list of available JFMDA versions, select Fetch Dictionary Releases from the All Actions menu.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Select an Active JFMDA Version value.
  5. Select Save.

Upon saving, Vault moves the JFMDA Device Code Dictionary to the Importing state. Once complete, Vault moves the JFMDA Device Code Dictionary to the Active state and updates all JFMDA Device Codes to correspond to the selected version, creating new JFMDA Device Codes as required.
