Learn how to manage core and local implementation strategies for your Risk Management Plans.

About RMP Implementation Strategies

An implementation strategy is an element of an RMP focused on how to implement a given risk measure. SafetyDocs defines implementation strategies as either Core Implementation Strategies or Local Implementation Strategies, based on their related Risk Management Plan.

Overview

This article explains how to:

Prerequisite

To use Implementation Strategies, your Admin must configure your Vault for Risk Management.

Create a Core Implementation Strategy

To create a Core Implementation Strategy:

  1. Navigate to Risk Management > Core Implementation Strategies.
  2. Select Create.
  3. Complete the applicable fields, then select Save.

Upon successful creation of a Core Implementation Strategy, the following sections appear:

Core Implementation Strategy Fields

The following fields may be available:

Field Description
Name Enter a name for the Core Implementation Strategy. Depending on your Admin’s configuration, this field may be auto-populated.

For Core Implementation Strategies created from an existing Core Implementation Strategy, Vault populates the Name of the initiating Core Implementation Strategy plus the Market name.
Product Family Select the Product Family of the Product that this implementation strategy is for.
Based On Select the previous implementation strategy on which this Core Implementation Strategy is based. If this is the first time measures are being developed, this can be left blank.

For Core Implementation Strategies created from an existing Core Implementation Strategy, Vault populates the initiating Core Implementation Strategy.
Core Implementation Plan Select the Implementation Plan-classified document that describes the strategy for risk measure implementation.

For Core Implementation Strategies created from an existing Core Implementation Strategy, Vault populates the document from the initiating Core Implementation Strategy.
Version Select the version of the Core Implementation Plan document.
Core RMP Select the Core RMP for the implementation strategy.

Documents Section

In the Documents section, add any related documents for the Core Implementation Strategy using the standard document creation process.

Risk Measures Section

If you selected a Core RMP for this Core Implementation Strategy, Vault generates Risk Measure records in the Risk Measures section.

To create additional Risk Measures for this Core Implementation Strategy:

  1. Select Create.
  2. Complete the Core Risk Measure fields.
  3. Select Save.

Create Local Implementation Strategies from a Core Implementation Strategy

For each region that requires risk implementation strategies, Vault can create local implementation strategies from a Core Implementation Strategy, including all related documents.

To create Local Implementation Strategies from a Core Implementation Strategy:

  1. Navigate to Risk Management > Core Implementation Strategies > [Core Implementation Strategy].
  2. Update the lifecycle state to Approved.

After the action finishes running, Vault sends a notification and:

Copy Existing Local Implementation Strategies

Vault copies all Local Implementation Strategies from the Core Implementation Strategy in the Based On field of the initiating Core Implementation Strategy. For each new Local Implementation Strategy, Vault copies all field values from the Core Implementation Strategy, with the following exceptions:

Field Value
Name The name of the Core Implementation Strategy plus the Market Name
Product Family The Product Family of the initiating Core Implementation Strategy
Core Implementation Strategy The initiating Core Implementation Strategy
Based On The copied Local Implementation Strategy
Local Implementation Plan The Local Implementation Plan document from the copied Local Implementation Strategy
Pre Launch Date Vault leaves this field blank
Actual Launch Date Vault leaves this field blank

Create New Local Implementation Strategies

After creating copies of existing Local Implementation Strategies, Vault creates a new Local Implementation Strategy for any Country without an existing Local Implementation Strategy, provided the Country meets the following criteria:

  • A Local Implementation Strategy does not exist for the Country on the initiating Core Implementation Strategy
  • The Product on the Core Implementation Strategy is registered in the Country
  • The Country requires an RMP, as determined by the following logic:
    • If the Core RMP defined on the originating Core Implementation Strategy has no Core RMP Type value, Vault considers all Countries with an RMP Required value of RMP Required
    • If the Core RMP defined on the originating Core Implementation Strategy contains a Core RMP Type value, Vault considers all Countries indicated in its Covered Countries field

Vault populates any new Local Implementation Strategies as follows:

Field Value
Name The name of the Core Implementation Strategy plus the Market name
Market The Country of this Local Implementation Strategy
Product Family The Product Family of the Core Implementation Strategy
Core Implementation Strategy The initiating Core Implementation Strategy

Create Local Risk Measures

Vault creates new Local Risk Measures for each:

  • Core Risk Measure on the Core Implementation Strategy
  • Local Risk Measure linked only to a previous Local Implementation Strategy version, also known as a local-only Local Risk Measure

Vault populates any new Local Risk Measures as follows:

Field Value
Name The name of the Core Risk Measure plus the Market name
Core Risk Measure The Core Risk Measure
Market The Country of the associated Local Implementation Strategy
Based On The Core Risk Measure or local-only Local Risk Measure
Core Implementation Strategy The initiating Core Implementation Strategy
Local Implementation Strategy The Local Implementation Strategy for the Market

Create a New Core Implementation Strategy Version

To create a new version of a Core Implementation Strategy:

  1. Navigate to Risk Management > Core Implementation Strategies > [Core Implementation Strategy].
  2. Select All Actions > Copy to New Version.

Upon completion, Vault sends a notification and creates:

  • A copy of the initiating Core Implementation Strategy and copies its field values, unless otherwise indicated
  • An exact copy of each Core Risk Measure on the initiating Core Implementation Strategy
