Veeva Safety supports the Japan Drug Dictionary (JDD) when processing domestic and Localized Cases for Japan. This feature includes lookup and coding of External Products with JDrug codes, which are exported to PMDA E2B(R3) reports when generating Transmissions. When working with Company Products in your Product library, Vault maps codes from the Local Product Code field on Japan Product Registrations.

When new JDD versions are released, they are uploaded to the central dictionary. You control which JDD version Vault uses for JDrug coding.

Prerequisites

Consider the following prerequisites for managing the JDD:

Vault also supports cross-referencing JDrug and WHODrug codes during case processing using the WHODrug Cross Reference Tool (CRT) Japan.

Update the Active JDrug Version

The Active Version field on the Japan Drug Dictionary displays the following message when your Vault is out-of-sync with the latest JDD releases: The list of available JDrug versions is out of sync with the server. Please sync the JDrug versions to update the list.

When new JDD versions become available, you can activate them to make the latest codes available during domestic and Localized Case processing for Japan:

  1. Navigate to Business Admin > Objects > Dictionaries > JDrug Dictionary.
  2. To sync the list of available JDrug versions, from the All Actions menu, select Fetch Dictionary Releases.
  3. To activate a JDrug version:
    1. Select Edit.
    2. In the Active JDrug Version field, select the desired dictionary version from the picklist.
    3. Select Save.

When the import is complete, Vault sends you an email notification and sets the status of the JDrug Dictionary to Active. When the JDrug Browser is used, the search results are based on the version selected.
