About Literature Standard Search Terms

Literature Standard Search Terms are records of queries made in databases to search for related literature. These records are in your Vault Library, and each is associated with a particular database, product, and search term. Each Literature Search Term on a Literature Review record is an instance of a Literature Standard Search Term that was executed at a specific point in time and returned a specific result set.

Prerequisites

You must configure your Vault to use the feature described on this page. For more information, see Enable JAPIC Literature Intake.

Create Literature Standard Search Terms

Complete the following steps to create Literature Standard Search Term records in your Vault:

  1. Go to Business Admin > Objects > Literature Standard Search Terms.
  2. Select Create.
  3. On the Create Literature Standard Search Term page, complete the following fields and select Save:
Field Description
Name Enter a name to identify the database query.
Product The product related to this Literature Standard Search Term. Select a Product from the drop-down or select the Advanced Search icon to use filters and refine your search.
Product Family The product family related to this Literature Standard Search Term. Select a Product Family from the drop-down or select the Advanced Search icon to use filters and refine your search.
Search Database The database with which this Literature Standard Search Term is registered. Select a database from the drop-down or select the Advanced Search icon to use filters and refine your search.
Search Expression Number For JAPIC-imported references, enter the unique number associated with this search term. Vault uses this value to identify if a matching Literature Search Term or Literature Standard Search Term record already exists and to populate fields accordingly. Search Term Enter the actual term associated with this record used to execute searches.
This field supports up to 5,000 characters.
