Learn how to restore a Vault’s AS2 Connections following an environment refresh.

About AS2 Connection Settings

Vault does not retain any AS2 Connection records following a Vault refresh. However, when you successfully register an AS2 Connection with the AS2 Gateway Service by synchronizing the connection, Vault stores the most important details of the connection in the AS2 Gateway Service. When a Vault environment is refreshed, your Admin can use the Restore AS2 Connections feature to restore the AS2 Connections that were registered with the Gateway Service prior to the refresh.

Restore the AS2 Connections for a Vault

To restore the AS2 Connections for your Vault, navigate to Admin > Settings > AS2 Connection Settings and select Restore AS2 Connections.

Result

Vault restores the following for each AS2 Connection that was registered to the Vault’s DNS name prior to the sandbox refresh:

  • The values of all standard fields.
  • The Partner and Sponsor Certificates.
  • All records in the Connections Allowed list.
Vault sets the name of these records to IP and numbers them sequentially. For example, IP 1, IP 2, IP 3, and so on.
  • API Name field: Vault creates a unique name for the restored AS2 Connection. You can change this if your Vault requires a different API Name value.
  • Sets the AS2 Vault Gateway State to Registered.
  • Sets the AS2 Additional ACK Stages1 field to PRE_ACK for synchronous connections, and PRE_ACK and HANDSHAKE for asynchronous connections.

Once all AS2 Connections are restored, Vault sends a notification that the refresh process is completed.

Should Vault fail to restore one (1) or more AS2 Connections, Vault also sends an email notification.

Next Steps

To ensure your restored AS2 Connections function correctly, we recommend you run the Sync Connection to Gateway action on each restored connection.
