With the 25R1 release, Veeva Safety supports coding on External Product types of Case Products against the Korea Drug Dictionary for domestic Cases and foreign Localized Cases, allowing you complete case processing and submissions with the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) codes. Veeva updates Vault’s Korea Drug Dictionary twice per year, in line with the WHODrug Link Korea schedule. New versions are automatically available in your Vault. You cannot utilize previous versions.

Updates
We have added the following updates to this feature:
- With the 25R3 release, Veeva Safety includes the Korea Drug Browser for Case Drug Histories, enabling users to search, browse, and code Korean drugs. See Configure Korea Drug Browser Support for Case Drug History to configure your Vault for this feature.
- With the 25R3 release, when processing domestic Cases or Localized Cases that are reportable to Korea, after coding External Products on Case Products, Vault now populates Ministry of Food and Drug Services (MFDS) Substance IDs on Localized Case Product Substances and Chemical Abstracts Services (CAS) numbers on Case Product Substances. This feature supports compliant submissions to MFDS. See Configure Korean Drug Substance Coding to configure your Vault for this feature.
Update the Case Product Object Layout
For the Case Product object layout for the External Product type, add the Korea Drug field.
Complete the following steps:
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > Case Product > Layouts > External Product Page Layout.
- Select Edit.
- In the Details section, add the Korea Drug field with the Slider (
) icon above the WHODrug field.
- Select Save.
Update the Localized Case Product Object Layout
For the Localized Case Product object layout for the Localized Case Product type, add the Korea Drug field.
Complete the following steps:
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > Localized Case Product > Layouts > Localized Case Product Detail Page Layout.
- Select Edit.
- In the Details section, add the Korea Drug field with the Slider (
) icon.
- Select Save.
Create the Korea Dictionary Record
To add the Korea Drug Dictionary to your Vault:
- Navigate to Business Admin > Objects > Dictionary.
- Select Create.
- For type, select Korean Drug Dictionary.
- Select Continue.
- Enter a Name. We suggest
Korea Drug Dictionary
. - Enter details for any additional fields.
- Select Save.
(25R3) Configure Korea Drug Browser Support for Case Drug History
To allow users to search, browse, and code Korean products in a patient’s drug history, you must:
- Copy the standard layout for the following objects and ensure the new layout is active:
- Case Drug History
- Localized Case Drug History
- Set the copied layout as the default.
- Delete any other existing custom layouts.

To configure Korean Drug Substance Coding in your Vault:
- Copy the standard layout for the following objects and ensure the new layout is active:
- Case Product Substance
- Localized Case Product Substance
- Set the copied layout as the default.
