Enable Non-E2B Case Identifiers Entry and Duplicate Search

Learn how to enable storing non-E2B Case Identifiers in Vault Safety and using them for duplicate detection.

About the Feature

In the 23R2 release, Vault Safety now supports storing non-E2B Case Identifiers and using them for duplicate search. This feature allows you to enter Case Identifiers on Inbox Items and on Cases, as well as specify the Case Identifier Type, for example, E2B-transmittable or non-transmittable.

Enable Case Identifier Entry on Inbox Items

Perform the following steps to enable manual Case Identifier entry on the Inbox Item page layout:

  1. Go to Admin > Configuration > Objects > Inbox Item > Page Layout > Inbox Item Detail Page Layout.
  2. In the Details section, select the Edit icon.
  3. In the Allow Manual Entry of Case Identifiers field, select True.
  4. Select Done.
  5. Save the page.

Grant Permissions for Case Identifier Type

Perform the following steps to grant the relevant users permission to edit the Case Identifier Type:

  1. Go to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets > [Permission Set] > Objects.
  2. Select the Case Identifier object.
  3. In the Object Permissions, select the Edit icon.
  4. Select the Edit checkbox.
  5. Select Save.
  6. In the Object Field Permissions, select the Edit icon.
  7. For the Type object field, select the Edit checkbox.
  8. Select Save.
  9. Go back to the Objects tab and select the Controlled Vocabulary object.
  10. In the Object Permissions, for Case Identifier Type, select the Read checkbox.
  11. Select Save.

Configure Case Identifier Types

Perform the following steps to configure Case Identifier Types in addition to the standard types provided:

  1. Go to Business Admin > Objects > Controlled Vocabularies.
  2. Select Create.
    A Create Controlled Vocabulary window appears.
  3. Select Case Identifier Type and then select Continue.
  4. Complete the following information:
    • Name: Enter a name for the new Case Identifier Type.
    • API Name: Enter an API name.
    • Re-Transmittable: Select this checkbox if you want to export this Case Identifier Type on Transmissions.
  5. Save the page.
