Manage Transmission Output Templates

Learn how to configure Vault for Destinations that require multiple Transmissions per Case.

About Transmission Output Templates

For each reportable Case, Vault creates a standard single Transmission (either a Submission or a Distribution, depending on your configuration) per passing reporting rule. However, some organizations require multiple Transmissions to be generated based on a single rule. China, for example, requires a Submission to the Center for Drug Evaluation of the NMPA as well as to China’s National Health Commission based on the same reporting obligation. For such scenarios, you can configure Vault to generate extra Transmissions in addition to the standard Transmission.

Use the sections below to configure your Vault to generate multiple Transmissions per passing rule.

Create Transmission Output Templates

Complete the following steps to create a Transmission Output Template for each additional Submission and Distribution required:

  1. Go to Business Admin > Objects > Transmission Output Templates.
  2. Select Create.
  3. Enter the Transmission Output Template fields, as described in the Transmission Output Template Fields table below.
  4. Select Save.

Transmission Output Template Fields

Field Description
Name Enter a unique name for the Transmission Output Template.
API Name Enter a unique API name for the Transmission Output Template.
Transmission Type Select whether Vault creates a Submission or a Distribution record when a Transmission is required (when the rule passes).
Transmission Profile

Select the Transmission Profile that Vault should use to populate the Transmission record fields.

The Transmission profile you select determines which Destination receives the multiple Transmissions.

Auto-Submit1 Sets the Auto-Submit field on the Transmission created from this Transmission Output Template.
Due in Days1 Sets the Due in Days field on the Transmission created from this Transmission Output Template.
Local Expedited Criteria1 Sets the Local Expedited Criteria field on the Transmission created from this Transmission Output Template.
Patient Content Protection1 Sets the Patient Content Protection field on the Transmission created from this Transmission Output Template.
Study Content Protection1 Sets the Study Content Protection field on the Transmission created from this Transmission Output Template.
Exceptions to Patient Content Protection Sets the Exceptions to Patient Content Protection field on the Transmission created from this Transmission Output Template.
  1. If you enter a value in this field, it overrides the equivalent parameter in the reporting rule and the Transmission Profile. In the case of Auto-Submit, it also overrides the Auto-Submit field on any manually created Transmissions.

Add Transmission Output Template Reporting Rule Parameter

Once you have created the required Transmission Output Templates, add a Transmission Output Template rule parameter to the applicable Safety Rule. For more information on adding Rule Parameters to a Safety Rule, see Reporting Rule Sets.

Result

You have configured your Vault to send multiple Transmissions per passing reporting rule.
