Enable Inbox Item Follow-Up Case Compare

Learn how to update your Vault’s configuration to enable the Inbox Item Follow-Up Case Compare page for Inbox Item promotion.

About the Feature

With the 21R3 release, Veeva Safety provides the Inbox Item Follow-Up Case Compare page, which allows users to compare data from a new Inbox Item to a previous Case version during case promotion. After you have enabled this feature, see Configure the Inbox Item Follow-Up Case Compare Layout for details about how to customize the page and Inbox Item Follow-Up for details about how users use the page.

With the 22R3 release, we provided additional capabilities to turn off auto-calculation on the page for Inbox Item promotion. See the (22R3) enablement instructions to configure your Vault for the updated feature.

Permission Sets

Ensure the Administration Actions permission set has View permission for the Case Promotion Settings page so the appropriate users can configure the page.

Update Case Promotion Settings

You must enable the follow-up option on the Potential Matches page in order to access the page:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Settings > Intake Settings.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. Select the Allow Follow-Up from Inbox Item checkbox.
  4. Select Save.

Update the Case Compare Followup Layout

To update the page layout:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Pages > Case Compare Page.
  2. Open the Case Compare Followup layout.
  3. Select the System section.
  4. For Fields, add Source MedDRA Version.
  5. Select Save.

(22R3) Add Auto-Calculation Options Field to Transmission Profile Layouts

You must add the Auto-Calculation Options field to the following Transmission Profile layouts:

  • AS2
  • Connection
  • Partner Exchange

To do this:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > Transmission Profile > Layouts > [Layout].
  2. In the Inbound Settings section, add the Auto-Calculation Options field.
  3. Select Save.

(22R3) Turn Off Auto-Calculations

For any system gateway, you can turn off Vault auto-calculations when promoting Inbox Items to Cases. To do this:

  1. Navigate to the applicable Transmission Profile.
  2. Expand the Inbound Settings section.
  3. For Auto-Calculation Options, select Disable.
  4. Select Save.
