Enable MedDRA Bulk Recode for Administrative Maintenance

With the 26R1 release, Safety extends the MedDRA Bulk Recode tool, allowing users to identify and replace non-current terms on Product-Event Combinations, Datasheets, Watchlists, and MedDRA Queries.

Prerequisites

To enable this feature in your Vault, you must first enable MedDRA Bulk Recode Cases.

To enable bulk recoding for Product-Event Combinations, you must first enable Signal Management.

Update the Dictionary Bulk Action Object Layout

To update the Dictionary Bulk Action object layout:

  1. Copy the standard layout with the following settings and ensure the new layout is active:
    • Object Type: Select Hierarchy Bulk Recode Action
    • Layout Label: Enter Hierarchy Bulk Recode Action Layout
  2. Update the new layout as follows:
    • Move the Organization field to the System Information section
    • Move the Hierarchy Level and Scope fields to the Details section
    • Remove the Case Inclusion Criteria section
  3. Set the copied layout as the default.
  4. Delete any other existing custom layouts.

Add the Identify Recode Candidates Action

Add a user action to the Active state of the Dictionary Bulk Action Lifecycle with the following settings:

  • Condition Type: Select Always
  • Allow the following actions:
    • Select Identify Recode Candidate
    • Label: Enter Identify Recode Candidates
