Enable Auto-Update Related Case Identifiers in Case Relationships

Learn how to configure your Vault to update the Related Case Identifier field.

About the Feature

With the 25R3 release, following changes to the Related Case on a Case Relationship record, Vault can update the Related Case Identifier field with either the UID or the Worldwide UID of the new related Case. This eliminates the need to manually update this information when users edit Case Relationship records.

Update Safety General Settings

To configure your Vault to populate either the UID or Worldwide UID of related Cases in the Related Case Identifier field following changes to Case Relationship records:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Settings > Safety General Settings.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. In the Auto-calculation Settings section, select an option in the Related Case Identifier source (On Edit) picklist.
  4. Select Save.

You can configure your Vault to populate Related Case Identifiers upon Case Relationship record creation. On the Case Relationship object, set a default value for the Related Case Identifier field.
